Pros

-High tech industry -Local work (most people need to commute to NYC from this region) -Matches 4.5% if you contribute 6% to 401k

Cons

-Preferential hiring of foreigners to higher paying positions. The vast majority of engineers, senior engineers, and senior managers, are foreign. -No internal promotion, although you CAN perform lateral transfers after 12 months. -Advertised referral bonuses are rejected by management after the other person is hired. -High senior management turnover -Safety last mentality. Elevated work with no fall protection allowed, emergency showers and eyewash stations with no drains, or adjacent to high voltage power boxes and receptacles. -Irregular splitting of hours to prevent paying overtime. If you work 7pm Saturday until 7am Sunday, the work day is split into two separate pay weeks. -12 hour shift workers receive less breaks, less sick days, less vacation days, and more mandatory overtime than standard day shift personnel.

Pros

Very supportive team and management to work with from the beginning. Many training classes need to be taken in moving forward to align with the company policies and technical procedures. Good benefits and competitive salary. Have a very positive plan for long term career and educational support tuition. The interview and hiring process are long but informative and responded promptly.

Cons

There are many training classes to take so it may put more stress on a new hire if you do not have a good plan.

Pros

Everyone is willing to help and the training is actually good training

Cons

If I didn’t know someone that worked since I was going to overnights I didn’t really meet anyone on my team except my manager once. Also I wouldn’t know who to reach out like manger wise if I didn’t know someone who already worked here
