Pros

- A good place to pick-up semiconductor fabrication process and know-how (multiple online platforms and offline classes). - Good work-life balance - Good internal data and reporting systems - Clear company vision and goals from the top management

Cons

- Lower salary than local semiconductor industrial peers - Very slow career advancement. The fab managers care more about the year of experience rather than the actual performance. Therefore, for young engineers, they will be treated equally even though one can outperform other peers (in my department, very few engineers stay longer than 3-4 years). -

Pros

GlobalFoundries provides a fantastic opportunity for young college students to learn about the semiconductor industry and gain meaningful hands-on experience. Throughout the summer, the company offers a variety of events, tours, and mentorship opportunities that expose interns to real manufacturing environments and the teams that support them. These experiences make it easy to learn, grow, and build a strong understanding of the industry.

Cons

Due to the size and structure of the company, interns may find it challenging to gain exposure to all areas of interest. The semiconductor industry's technical complexity can also create a steep learning curve for those without prior experience.
