Pros

- some good, brand name clients every once in a while -would be ok if you’re just looking for temporary staffing, not a career

Cons

Here’s what Globant doesn’t tell you before you’re hired: -Your 15 days of PTO includes all sick time. If sick time is a requirement in your state, they count this towards your PTO (so you will basically be hoarding vacation days in case you or your child get sick, or working when you’re sick). This was something the recruiter blatantly lied about. -You get 5 days of bereavement leave, if you need more, it’s PTO or unpaid time. Any flexibility in time off is often left up to one person in charge of a spreadsheet in a different country. - You will constantly be at risk of layoff - the Talent Pool aka “dojo” policy. While this policy changes constantly at the disadvantage of employees as leadership grips more pennies, essentially once your project end you are essentially on a ~55 day countdown clock to your employment ending. You will enter a swirl of being told to apply to projects only available for LATAM staff at 1/4 the rate, being asked to work on presales (which don’t count toward your clock) or to work on a short project (which pauses your clock, doesn’t reset it). You can be working long hours in a number of presales, and still have an end date for your job the following week. Nearly every employee I met at Globant was blindsided/baited and switched by this policy, as it creates constant and unending instability for your entire employment. This is a layoff and hire/fire structure. They staff projects and let most go shortly after. No one in the US has any financial incentive to assign you to a project- account reps included. Most people have their role end this way. I felt ethically inclined to write this review because it is never mentioned in hiring, yet will take up 80% of your stress in this role nearly daily. -Promotions are rare, conditional, and based on many made up rules. In my 3+ year tenure I did not once get a clear understanding of the difference between levels on the team (and salaries were everywhere, despite level.) - Account reps want to place LATAM staff- it is extremely rare that US staff are prioritized. (Thus you are more likely to be laid off).
