Pros
Great company to start a career. Most of the people are great and are very easy to work with. Everyone is extremely motivated and it would be hard to find a similar working environment. There is a reason why GS continues to be the premier large investment bank.
Cons
Very difficult to progress in a career or to move around within the company. Although people seem very helpful, everyone is pretty much out for themselves and will do anything possible to progress. This includes stepping over people or going around peoples backs. Although there supposedly is internal mobility, this rarely occurs, especially in the current financial environment.
