Pros

Provides employment in many rural communities

Cons

The greed starts at the top and ripples its way through-out the organization. I have read many of the reviews especially the ones that are written by the hands-on care givers. How SAD!!!!!! The ones who labor the hardest are on the bottom of the pay scale, with no thought of their worth in pay as compared to the CEO. One of the reviewers on this site mentions the salary of the CEO. My first thought was this cannot be true so I checked it out. "Tax Form 990, 2015, Part VII Compensation to Officers, Directors, Trustees and Key Employees" Names David Horazdousky Reportable compensation from the organization W-2 $ 755,069 Estimate of Other compensation.............................................$ 8,430 Total...................................................................................$ 763,499 This is INSANE!!!!!! It is out of control !!!!!! The rising non-profit CEO salaries is so bad has prompted New York, New Jersey, Florida, Massachusetts, to issue executive orders that limit some charities from using state funds to pay salaries of more than $ 199,000. When I think of those families that have lost all of their savings to pay for their loved one to be in a Good Samaritan Facility it makes the hurt that much more real. How very, very SAD. Then I think of the reviewers that are basically calling out for help Please give us more staffing hours so we can adequately provide the basic needs of human dignity. Pay us a living wage....When the facts are presented it is clear to see that there is a basis for the claim of GREED, Profits over caring...These are not just comments of disgruntled employees...an easy means of dismissing their cries for help!!!!! For those thinking of working for this organization I do understand that bills must be paid, however, if one has a chose it may be worth looking else where....Good Luck

Pros

401K Options available to employees

Cons

Management - violate HIPPA in regards to background checks of caregivers. Numerous times caregivers are laughed at and made fun of. Several instances where management in staff meetings belittle and make fun of how GS is manipulating caregivers at the lowest pay to take shifts or they threaten their job is at stake. Management engage with staff gossip of other staff and violate HIPPA of several employees with disabilities and share with others staff special arrangements. HR - violate HIPPA by sharing personal detailed information regarding caregivers disabilities and background checks to management. Management have been overheard laughing at caregivers who have come back with disabilities or background check results and shared in staff meetings HIPPA protected information with all. Management have withheld pay and try to get away with not paying caregivers hours worked to save on budget. Tell them they can't be paid if they did not log in, despite them working the hours or having difficulty signing in. Management accepting gifts from clients and allowing other staff to take gifts from clients despite it being against policy and a manipulation towards client trust. Threats from management and abuse of power when staff whistleblow to clients what is going on or when staff share with upper management. It is always best to record to protect onself due to retaliation based on lies.
