Pros

Easy work Good for part time work Some coworkers are nice and chill to talk to. You can get food and leftovers after supper, and for various meals.

Cons

Ridiculously small pay raises. I received 41 cents because I am very good at my job. Most receive 10 cents. PTO gets auto used on holidays. Management once “accidentally” didn’t see that when I was staying overnight and getting paid for it, it was using my PTO. 18 hours gone and non refundable I’ve been told. Management is bad at finding and hiring new people, leading to many short staffed shifts. It is common to be called in or asked to work on your days off. If you don’t respond or don’t accept you sometimes get bullied upon your next shift. Horrible coworkers. Some have been working there 15 years or more and don’t know how to train people without screaming at them. Management does little to nothing about wrongdoings. People can show 15 mins late or more, no consequences. People can ridicule and bully others blatantly and no real consequences. People can take 45 minute breaks instead of 15, no consequences. Very lax managing and definitely a bad sign. Interdepartmental communication is abysmal. Manager expects you to find replacements for your shift and if you do miraculously find a replacement and they don’t show you get the absence. Schedules for the next month are often given out a few days before the start of that next month. Only one time was I ever given a schedule halfway through the month for the next month. Manager is always on their phone playing a game or watching stuff.

Pros

401K Options available to employees

Cons

Management - violate HIPPA in regards to background checks of caregivers. Numerous times caregivers are laughed at and made fun of. Several instances where management in staff meetings belittle and make fun of how GS is manipulating caregivers at the lowest pay to take shifts or they threaten their job is at stake. Management engage with staff gossip of other staff and violate HIPPA of several employees with disabilities and share with others staff special arrangements. HR - violate HIPPA by sharing personal detailed information regarding caregivers disabilities and background checks to management. Management have been overheard laughing at caregivers who have come back with disabilities or background check results and shared in staff meetings HIPPA protected information with all. Management have withheld pay and try to get away with not paying caregivers hours worked to save on budget. Tell them they can't be paid if they did not log in, despite them working the hours or having difficulty signing in. Management accepting gifts from clients and allowing other staff to take gifts from clients despite it being against policy and a manipulation towards client trust. Threats from management and abuse of power when staff whistleblow to clients what is going on or when staff share with upper management. It is always best to record to protect onself due to retaliation based on lies.
