Pros

You will meet some fun and young people.

Cons

There are 2 main cons that keep being mentioned in the REAL reviews on here for good reason - the HOURS and the SALARY. They try to call any real feedback about these issues "negativity" which is a cop out. Do NOT get baited by this. Their main job is to SELL this job to others, which they desperately try to do with fake salary projections and fake reviews. Do not be fooled. Their motto is "Work 60 hours a week - or else you are a negative person and not a hard worker. If you don't work that much you are not giving enough to the team, not being a servant leader, not an A player..." You will see through this pretty quickly. They will make you feel bad for not working extra hours, but they don't feel an ounce of sympathy for making it impossible to have a life outside of work. This job will take a toll on your mental and physical health, which I have witnessed happen to many people during my time there. People pump themselves full of energy drinks, adderall, coffee, etc, just to get through the day. Think of it as "finals week" in college, except it will be your everyday life now. VERY few people last there longer than 1-2 years. People literally have breakdowns and lead very stressful lives because of Goosehead. They say "Be smart with your time" so they break down a perfect schedule where you have time to work, commute, eat dinner, and go back to sleep and start over. That will be your routine because you will not have time for other things. Management tries to mask their huge turnover issue by saying they weed out "bad seeds" to try to make you feel better about it, when in reality people smart up and leave. If this was such an "amazing" and "lucrative" opportunity, people that quit would be begging to go back. You work early, leave late, work through lunches, and work weekends constantly. It does not matter if you are behind or ahead of goal. It will NEVER be enough. They increase your goal spontaneously, making it almost impossible to ever be ahead of your goal. They also cannot explain why your goal is higher than another agent that started at the same time as you. You could easily fall behind on your goal while still producing more than that other agent just because expectations are higher for you, yet you will be in trouble for being behind and the other agent will be in the clear. Another word for this is favoritism. They try desperately to make you feel like you are part of an elite group, when in reality you work with people straight out of college that have no real experience and don't know better. Their definition of a "great culture" is going out drinking every night. If you don't have the energy to do that after a long week, especially if you have a family, or just want to spend time at home or other dedicating time to other hobbies, you will have a hard time fitting in and impressing your manager. Finally, the salary is really low for a sales job. No one actually makes the amount of money they say you will. You paycheck should reflect your grind, but it does NOT. Most agents live at home with their parents.

Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not have a good experience. We strive to create great career opportunities for our team, and we are very transparent through the recruiting process. We understand the importance of managing expectations during the recruiting process and we make sure all new team members have access to department heads and hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process as well as a successful first year including ample training and support. In addition, we are proud of our fast growing team that includes successful tenured sales professionals that have been with us for over a decade. We enjoy a culture of excellence where A players will be surrounded by other A players. There is no disregard to the fact that high compensation is the direct result of hard work and grit, as with any sales career. In regards to work hours, we are truly a meritocracy where agents who are hitting goals earn flexible schedules, while those behind will be expected to put in extra time until they reach their goal. Compensation is pay on performance and those who demonstrate strong work ethic and commitment will enjoy industry leading income potential and a great lifestyle. We invite anyone to write a review on Glassdoor as we know that most of our team loves being part of the team and wants to share why. As you will see by our responses, our reputation is important to us and we understand it goes hand in hand with the success of our people. Search Goosehead on Facebook and you will get a good sense of our culture. We invite all applicants to our headquarters where they can meet with management, tour our facility and get a true sense of our people and our great work environment.

Pros

I’ve had a great experience at Goosehead, especially after moving into a Sales Manager role. The company gives people the opportunity to advance quickly if they’re willing to put in the work. I enjoy coaching and developing new agents, and it’s rewarding to see them grow both professionally and financially. The culture is energetic, leadership invests in training, and top performers are recognized. Like any sales organization, expectations are high and the pace is fast, so it isn’t the right fit for someone looking for a typical 9-to-5. But if you’re self-motivated, coachable, and enjoy competition, there are a lot of opportunities for career growth and strong earning potential.

Cons

Fast-paced environment with high expectations, so you have to be self-driven to succeed.
