Pros
I have been with Goosehead for more than 3 years and it has created several opportunities for me. Better yet, working for Goosehead has taught me how to create opportunities for myself. In life, you can't wait for things to happen; You have to make them happen. Meritocracy is the best way run a company. You eat what you kill! However, the support that you get from everybody is unmatched. It's nearly impossible to imagine working for an organization wherein everybody(no matter the tenure/position) will stop whatever it is that their doing to help you. We have that at Goosehead. We've dominated the marketplace for a while and continue to widen the gap through our innovative practices. This is a company that is made for A players. There is no ceiling and you control how much you want to ear by the work you put in. In the first year, you will work your tail off, but this should be expected in anything that you want to be successful at. In my opinion, the 2nd year is the hardest because you're still working like a first year agent while trying to balance new business and servicing current accounts. However, midway through the 2nd year is where an agent begins to hit their stride. After that, you are in full control of your career growth.
Cons
Office hours are 8-6 but winners work start to finish. Ask any successful professional and you'll find out that they work 60-80 hours per week. Work/life balance can be affected, but it's all worth it if you're working towards something great. Nobody ever regrets hard work. There's times where I've worked until 9PM but still found time to have a great quality of life. There are times when you get burnt out from sales. There are times when you want to quit. However, you have a great support cast around you to keep you encouraged. Success comes from perseverance and consistency.
