Pros

I've worked at Goosehead for about a year and half, and it has flown by (in a good way). I've held other positions in the past, but none that have been such a great fit as this position is. If you are a self-driven, competitive, vision-oriented individual, Goosehead will be a great fit. Don't get me wrong, every job has it's up's and down's and this is a sales position - you will experience these emotions in this career path. If you're able to keep your head cool, keep your confidence and keep pushing - this shouldn't phase you. The company represents itself as a meritocracy, which I believe to be 100% true. Opportunities are given to those who are hardworking. Money is made by your own performance. The perk to insurance is that you are able to build your book of business and cushion yourself on a poor-performing month, as the years go on. Again, I caution - this job is only for go-get'ers and hard-workers. If you're not committed to busting it when you first arrive in the Account Exec position, move on. After the first two years (although I'm not quite there), it seems like you really settle into the position. I'm located in Houston, TX - the company culture is bar none down here. I LOVE the atmosphere, the people I work with, the 'vibe' in the office. And I really appreciate that this company will go to bat to preserve this culture for it's employees. Can't speak highly enough about my office culture - these people are the highlight of my day.

Cons

You'll work hard, you'll work long hours, you'll get tired and sometimes you'll face rejection. Sales can be a tough job - lucrative, but tough. Those on top, don't get on top by leaving work on time and riding the clock. Emotionally, it can be trying and it is easy to carry the stress home. Although, I think you learn to cope with these stressors as time goes on.

Pros

I’ve had a great experience at Goosehead, especially after moving into a Sales Manager role. The company gives people the opportunity to advance quickly if they’re willing to put in the work. I enjoy coaching and developing new agents, and it’s rewarding to see them grow both professionally and financially. The culture is energetic, leadership invests in training, and top performers are recognized. Like any sales organization, expectations are high and the pace is fast, so it isn’t the right fit for someone looking for a typical 9-to-5. But if you’re self-motivated, coachable, and enjoy competition, there are a lot of opportunities for career growth and strong earning potential.

Cons

Fast-paced environment with high expectations, so you have to be self-driven to succeed.

Pros

Broad Product Access: Agents leverage an expansive portfolio of top insurance carriers rather than being forced to sell a single brand. Passive Income Potential: Sales reps earn uncapped commissions on new business alongside recurring residual income from policy renewals. Strong Peer Culture: The workforce is described as highly motivated, energetic, and welcoming, offering a great environment for young professionals. Dedicated Service Support: Separate service and back-office teams handle ongoing client management, allowing sales agents to focus strictly on closing new business. Professional Development: The firm covers the cost of licensing exams and provides structured Salesforce and business development training. Standard Corporate Perks: Full-time corporate staff receive a complete Goosehead Insurance Employee Benefits Package, including a 401(k) match and an employee stock purchase plan.

Cons

No cons to mention here. - this is a job, you can make it great if you care about what you do and the relationships you are building.
