Pros
very good benefits including excellent 401k, decent health insurance, tuition reimbursement, ect decent pay core Christian values at the top
Cons
Not a job you can do long term, very demanding physical work. Middle management doesn't seem to genuinely care about the workers, no real opportunity for advancement. Senority means nothing, experience means nothing. Those that are picked for training positions are those who are in the back pocket of management, or in one branch's case those that all live in the same small town of the branch manager. People are not picked for advancement based on how well they can do the job, or what they can bring to the company, but rather how well they can kiss up and not out shine the branch manager. Employee moral is low in the branch, management senses this and tries to make sure the employees don't talk alone. Some of this is probably pretty common work place happenings, but it is unfortunate in a company with such great core principles. Overall, Gordons is a good company with amazing and wonderful Christian values, but maybe it's time for them to review what's happening within their middle management.
