Pros

City with a lot of trauma and sick people, great place to get experience. Prehospital blood program. Looks great on a resume.

Cons

Lagging compared to scope of the rest of the country. Won’t pay for training outside of scheduled work hours. Very little to no hands on training outside of new hire or those selected to ride QRV or other promoted positions. Poor and inconsistent communication from leadership about roll outs or other events. Current leadership is more focused on meeting numbers than creating a good culture at work.

Pros

The best at providing resources for the low socioeconomic population. The pay has gotten better. Certain members of upper management are no longer working as a bedside nurse. I can’t even imagine.

Cons

Management is horrible The turnover is high. The HR representative is unprofessional and is not a safe or helpful representative of the organization. There are unhealthy/toxic relationships that exists amongst the members of management and the HR representative within care coordination, starting with the vice president of care coordination. As a result, there is a lot of retaliation going on within the department.
