Thank you for sharing your views. We appreciate your work and your assessment of your time with us, including one “Pro” during your less than 2 years with us – a challenging period of time for everyone. Even during the pandemic, we are proud to have provided steady employment to you and to every other Granite Teammate, without layoffs, furloughs or pay decreases and switching to work from home for Granite Teammates. We continue to offer WFH to our Teammates today. We appreciate your observations about “competition” within Granite. As you know, we win business from large, incumbent carriers and service providers whom we often need to out-hustle for business. That culture permeates many things here, and we know it isn’t a perfect fit for everyone. We appreciate your viewpoints on the many fundraising and philanthropic initiatives. Granite has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most philanthropic companies in Massachusetts and one of the best places to work. No one is required to participate in our popular shaving events, and many hundreds of our Teammates opt not to do so. Same goes for other efforts to promote philanthropic initiatives here – including the $3 per week solicited for a local, non-profit selected by a Granite Teammate. Granite matches all donations. No one is required to participate and all Granite Teammates are paid to volunteer at the same philanthropies without any financial sacrifice whatsoever. Finally, we appreciate you pointing out the work of Granite’s Diversity Committee and the significantly good work the company has done to promote many social justice initiatives both within the company and in the communities where we work and live. Nothing “fake” nor “lip service” about that. We are proud of our diverse workforce, which extend into and through Granite’s managers and supervisors – all the way into Granite’s senior-most leadership. All chairs on that team are minorities in leadership positions within the company. We wish you luck in your chosen career path and hope with additional experience elsewhere you’ll remember us more fondly.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
