Pros

So long as you try you wont get fired. fairly laid back

Cons

the company doesn't care for its employees. no perks to the job. communication between the higher ups of the shop floor is so poor, if you have a question (even work related) it can take 1-7 days to get an answer even reminding them you haven't received an answer every 3 days. you have to work 30 hours to get 1 hour of PSTO but can only get 48 hours total so theres 3 months in the year where you dont accumulate PSTO so you have to save some or risk getting a demerit which you can only get a total of 7 before being fired. demerits are forgiven after 365 days from the incident (ex: late to work) No Possibility for growth, shop is based on seniority and the average worker has been there 5,7, or 10+ years so no position of leadership ever opens up since no one ever leaves the company. union shop for sheet metal 10 but doesnt have a real union benifits (worker rights are enforced but no pension). union representative in maintance position is a for the company man (sides with the company on issues not the employee) strict attendance

Pros

Benefits aren’t bad and some of the people can be pleasant.

Cons

If you are outside production, then never expect a raise of more than 3-5% annually, but they expect you to do the job of 4 people.
