Pros

I worked for Greystar for 5 years, and I thought I would die working for that company. They draw you in with promises of growth and building, and yes, they do provide those things. I can almost guarantee you that if you start working with Greystar at an onsite level, you will definitely move up into the corporate sector. When you are a full-time employee you will be able to have great benefits that usually surpass other companies and a 401k program. Then, when you begin to gain tenure with the property you will be provided with more weeks of vacation and larger matching from the company to your 401k account. However, those are pretty much the only pros to working for this company.

Cons

Greystar preaches a lot about their pillars and values. Once you start working there,t his is one of the allures. Wow, a huge company that takes this much pride in honesty and integrity, that sounds amazing, right? Well once you're there for a certain amount of time the preaching of the pillars and values never stop but you begin to see very quickly that they're not actually put into place on a daily basis. Upper-level executive management is absolutely terrible within Greystar. Maybe it's because they're promoting people so quickly, or they're giving positions to people who aren't ready for them. I'm not sure what the problem is exactly, but these executives DO NOT know how to take care of their employees and they treat them like absolute garbage. You will get paid very little to work extremely hard, a lot of hours, and get very little in return.

Pros

They pay you well and give good benefits.

Cons

They will work you to the bone, abuse you emotionally, manipulate you, talk down on you, and throw you out the moment you aren’t taking any of it. They work you your normal hours and then 30-50 overtime hours in that same two weeks. They don’t care for their employees well being, only the results they get the client. Even if it’s at the expense of your health, safety, or mental status. Management is like a giant frat and sorority opened a business. You can’t ask for help they’ll retaliate, you can’t ask for relief or they’ll retaliate, you can’t have issues otherwise they’ll retaliate. Do not work here even for the money or benefits, they will work you to death and then prop your corpse up to work more. If you value your personal time, mental health, and over all well being. God forbid you want to leave your building and management doesn’t want you to, ask for a transfer and they will rain down write ups on you. You are owned by the client if you work for this company. Modern day indentured servitude. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM.
