Pros

Nationwide company with room for transfer ability Training programs Benefits are good Company will pay for advanced training through local associations and continued education programs.

Cons

Who you know, not what you know Ever changing policies and procedures for PNW region Revolving door of staff and support staff Career advancement is often determined by Regional Manager Favoritism runs wild in PNW region Everything is blamed on "not enough money in the budget" Unless you are in the Downtown flagship properties, don't expect to get noticed or visited by RM/VP/Directors. Suburban areas like Tacoma, Bothell, Renton markets rarely get as much notice as Downtown high end flagship properties Managers are expected to have emails/calls on personal phones by select Regionals resulting in late night deadlines, and skewed work/life balance.

Pros

Pay with housing discounts tend to be better than competition

Cons

Severe negatives if you plan on taking any type of leave of absence. While they are required to allow the leave, (my experience) has been that if retaliatory since it adds additional work load to those in your group (your boss). I’ve experienced this personally, and have seen it with other managers in my group. You will start to receive write ups that you never had before, micro managed, and/or fired after such things. I went from discussing promotions before my leave started to becoming ineligible for rehire after taking state protected LOA.
