Pros

Certain coworkers are a delight and won't stab you in the back.

Cons

Griffin Alexander is currently being managed by toxic leadership with no regard or respect for long-time employees and the constant new ones that enter the revolving door. The leading manager and managing shareholder act immaturely and expect employees to endure rude and gaslighting behavior constantly. Without providing useable feedback, they consistently berate, insult, and belittle your work performance. The managing shareholder thinks it's okay for her to not show up to the office every day but expects employees to drive through snowstorms and dangerous weather. Additionally, management will constantly micromanage teams and contradict team managers' directions. Understandably this can happen in a workplace, but in Griffin Alexander, it happens too much to the point that an employee's responsibilities shift every day. When management is asked about what specific responsibilities an employee has, they constantly change. Additionally, when cross-team collaboration is conducted and requires communication....it is used for penalizing employees. Every day, long-time employees complain and gossip about how toxic the managing shareholder is. The environment feels like a scene from 1984. There are little to no fellow employees you can trust. Within 2 months, 6-10 employees consistently leave and get replaced. For the size of this firm, this is a huge RED FLAG.

Pros

The people are the best part of the firm! The teams are super collaborative, and your co-workers are very supportive and willing to help you out. I am happy to see many of my coworkers each day. We have a great vibe! The firm is fast paced, but I have learned so much in the short time I have been a Legal Assistant. I came in with no prior experience in Landlord/Tenant law and received training to learn about proper procedures and protocol. If you are a quick learner with a strong work ethic, you will do great at Griffin Alexander! Every day I learn something new and I am proud of what I have accomplished so far with the firm. In terms of work-life balance, there is great work-life balance! We get a paid, hour-long lunch. Additionally, the hours are a very traditional 9am to 5pm with little to no overtime required.

Cons

There can sometimes be a heavy workload. The demand fluctuates as there are some busy times of the month. However, this can teach you great time management skills and you can reach out to your supervisor if you are feeling overwhelmed and cannot meet a specific deadline. Once again, if you have a strong work-ethic, you will do great!

Pros

There weren't any pros, genuinely.

Cons

The turnover rate is extremely high, they would rather replace someone than treat them with respect and pay a little more money. Wages are bad, culture is bad, morale is worse. Expect to receive little to no training and be verbally lashed when you make a mistake. Even if the mistake was because of a lack of training/you not knowing better. Hesitate to ask questions, too many and that's a problem. People come and go, some last a week, some last a month, a few last a year. Longer than that? Unicorns. Management is unhappy, for what reason? Who knows, maybe from working there, maybe personally, but it shows, and if you're the closest person available you will be on the receiving end of the unhappiness. Like other reviews on here, you can expect no work or so much there is no way to keep up. This isn't a place that rewards good work or hard work, it rewards your ability to sit down, shut up, and toe the party line. Save yourself the trouble, you can get similar experience for more pay and less stress. Not even as an internship, go work at McDonalds, your prospects are better there.
