Pros

Professionally suitable environment which facilitates learning and growth among their employees. As someone hoping to attend Law School in the future, there was plethora of skills that I was able to obtain at Griffin Alexander that I feel have better prepared me not only for school but any jobs thereafter. Also, it would not be a complete review without mentioning the many wonderful people whom I had the pleasure of working alongside. Everyone at the firm was always willing to listen, help and guide one another whenever needed, the appreciation and support towards one another is something I will be forever looking for in my future jobs. To me, Griffin Alexander sets the standard for high quality, fulfilling employment at a Law Firm in New Jersey.

Cons

Employee turnover is the most notable and also the only con that comes to mind.

Pros

The people are the best part of the firm! The teams are super collaborative, and your co-workers are very supportive and willing to help you out. I am happy to see many of my coworkers each day. We have a great vibe! The firm is fast paced, but I have learned so much in the short time I have been a Legal Assistant. I came in with no prior experience in Landlord/Tenant law and received training to learn about proper procedures and protocol. If you are a quick learner with a strong work ethic, you will do great at Griffin Alexander! Every day I learn something new and I am proud of what I have accomplished so far with the firm. In terms of work-life balance, there is great work-life balance! We get a paid, hour-long lunch. Additionally, the hours are a very traditional 9am to 5pm with little to no overtime required.

Cons

There can sometimes be a heavy workload. The demand fluctuates as there are some busy times of the month. However, this can teach you great time management skills and you can reach out to your supervisor if you are feeling overwhelmed and cannot meet a specific deadline. Once again, if you have a strong work-ethic, you will do great!

Pros

There weren't any pros, genuinely.

Cons

The turnover rate is extremely high, they would rather replace someone than treat them with respect and pay a little more money. Wages are bad, culture is bad, morale is worse. Expect to receive little to no training and be verbally lashed when you make a mistake. Even if the mistake was because of a lack of training/you not knowing better. Hesitate to ask questions, too many and that's a problem. People come and go, some last a week, some last a month, a few last a year. Longer than that? Unicorns. Management is unhappy, for what reason? Who knows, maybe from working there, maybe personally, but it shows, and if you're the closest person available you will be on the receiving end of the unhappiness. Like other reviews on here, you can expect no work or so much there is no way to keep up. This isn't a place that rewards good work or hard work, it rewards your ability to sit down, shut up, and toe the party line. Save yourself the trouble, you can get similar experience for more pay and less stress. Not even as an internship, go work at McDonalds, your prospects are better there.
