Pros

Lots of snacks. Fun events. People generally want to work hard. People are generally committed to doing their jobs well and helping the company succeed. Mobility available between teams if you have interests you want to develop. The product is awesome and keeps improving. The purpose is applicable in today's market. Grow/the employees work really hard to help customers succeed.

Cons

No upward mobility. Even if you have the potential and skills to lead, Grow hires from outside the company to get their managers and VPs. There is generally a lack of communication between teams. If you aren’t of the same opinion as the management, you are likely to be marginalized and eventually asked to leave Grow. Lack of communication between management and employees. If a manager doesn’t like someone, they are usually let go without much explanation of what they did “wrong” or what they could do to improve---whether or not they were performing poorly. Some very hard and valuable workers have been let go without knowing what they could have done better. Expectations change frequently and are not communicated well to the employees. Employees “on the ground” don’t know what they need to do to succeed. It didn’t used to be this way, but management lets people go in order to bring their high-level friends in. Upper-level management tends to be prideful and care about looking cool to the customers, but as a result, they care less about the individual employees than they used to. It feels like there is not much of a long-term plan in many areas (marketing strategies, sales, pricing, etc.). Plans change every couple months.

Good, smart humans working on some fun problems.

Cons

Fast paced environment. Opportunities to increase communication but not a deal breaker.

Pros

They have some great people working for the company. It was good to learn from them and build my network. The industry is a cool and exciting one to be in. Learning BI and data has been a valuable skill for me to grow my career.

Cons

I don't see Grow succeeding and they have been going down for a few years now. They make quick and drastic pivots to the product, marketing, and overall business model without giving time to see if the changes will actually work. That was extremely frustrating to deal with when I worked for them. They don't put enough money into the product to make it stable or add key features to make it competitive in the market. The product is a buggy mess and so frustrating to use. One of the reasons I left was because I was tired of using Grow and dealing with all the bugs it has constantly. It's also missing key features that even basic BI tools have. It's overpriced and difficult to sell and even more difficult to keep customers. I had a lot of hope for Grow but I'm just not seeing it succeeding anymore. They focus too much on the financials instead of making strategic business decisions. That is due to an Accountant being the right hand of the CEO. Unfortunately, I see more layoffs coming soon. Hopefully, the CEO isn't on vacation in Mexico this time like he was when they laid off most of the sales team.
