Pros

None. All of the free food in the world isn't worth it. As to the hours, myself and the people I worked with were all putting in 50-60 hour weeks, with no flex time or any thanks for it.

Cons

Unethical and extremely poor leadership at the highest levels. What is acceptable for one team is taboo for another. The board should overhaul the entire executive tier, starting with the CEO. He can't be bothered to come to work in the summers anyway. He fires people without cause, relying on fact that he can ,because this is Illinois, and he doesn't need a reason. The CFO is also a horrible human being who needs to be knocked down a few pegs. Between the two of them, I've never been treated so poorly. Do not take a role here, on any level. You will regret it. Don't drink the CEO's kool aid.

Pros

I appreciated the flexibility, which made it an ideal gig as a parent balancing busy schedules. The instant daily cash-out feature is helpful for managing tight finances during difficult times. I personally found the day-to-day work enjoyable, offering daily opportunities to meet diverse people and discover interesting local restaurants. Before COVID I was actually able to utilize business deliveries for networking to obtain clients for my photo both business.

Cons

Grubhub fails to honor its own guidelines and penalizes its top-performing drivers. Work is highly inconsistent; the higher your stats, the fewer (and worse) offers you receive, making financial momentum impossible. The role also carries high safety risks, forcing drivers to rush through traffic under strict time constraints. The company lacks basic empathy and support during emergencies. After a traffic accident on the job, Grubhub showed zero concern for my safety. Instead, their rigid automation penalized my driver metrics for missed offers because I was physically unable to update my app status while handling the collision. To top it off, the final straw was receiving an automated email accusing me of "abusing the system" simply for qualifying for the guaranteed Grubhub contributions I rightfully earned.
