Pros
I loved the fashion-forward vibe of the store. I loved dressing up on the weekends, and I loved the clothing discounts (of course). As in almost any retail job, having the inside scoop on sale items was awesome. Guess has good sales overall, and I loved being able to get awesome pieces before anyone else could.
Cons
So much favoritism! It was the reason I ultimately quit. My store was very cliquey. The “preferred” associates would get more praise for their accomplishments, more hours, and preference on time requested off. On one occasion, I won a sales competition and beat the runner up by doubling her sales, and I never got the prize. When the favorites would win, they’d get their picture taken, it would be posted all over the bulletin board, etc. Also, I love dressing up, but the managers would make comments about my appearance when I didn’t dress as girly as the other girls. It made me uncomfortable.
