Pros

good discount on gear flexible-ish hours, mainly in the sense that managers come from musical backgrounds, and understand the need to have a day off because of a gig opportunity depending on the location, the ability to make a lot of money per hour if you bust your tail Fairly lax, sometimes.

Cons

Often pushed towards working in situations with no possibility to earn commision while management favorites make sales extremely corporate, there is never a bad guy as there is always someone higher on the ladder to shift blame to worked in the busiest guitar center in the country, most likely, and was often scheduled 2 weeks out as the only associate on a given shift, left to tend to thousands of customers for 8 hours. corporate will often cut labor budget at random for stores and part timers are left with one shift a week at most serious issue with culture of the store, absurdly masculine. felt like i was in a locker room was a loyal employee for years, and was one of the most reliable hard workers in the store, and was let go for a logistical scheduling issue that harmed absolutely nobody

Pros

Sweet deals and discounts Coworkers are very pleasant to work with Good as extra income Good for aspiring musicians to network with experts of the industry

Cons

Obsolete softwares Scheduling system software that is thenmost imperative tool as of it will be the backbone of a lesson lead for your team of instructors success it's also somewhat obsolete amd constantly crashing both IT and Upper management are aware. IT is very diligent and pleasant to work with but Upper management expects their lessons lead to work and deliver at 100% capacity while they continue to have an operating system that only works at 75% capacity, just beware of that and if you're willing to work under those conditions. With that put there go at your own discretion. Nobody gets Christmas/winter holiday vacation time off, also go at your own discretion on that one especially if you have kids and family looking for work-life-balance.
