Pros

Pay is competitive, benefits okay - though generally declining each year. Savannah area is nice, except the brutally hot summers. Aircraft are world class and top level executives at GD have spend a fortune developing the company's infrastructure and R&D.

Cons

These is no top to bottom org chart view-able by employees or public. But if one could review such a list of positions and reports I am certain it would highlight the top heavy and ineffective management structure discussed by many other reviewers. It seems like many positions are simply favors to friends or family - not really needed; or not at all the best / most qualified persons for the responsibilities required to be effective.

Pros

-Work in an air conditioned hangar! -All the tools and support needed to do the job -Excellent training available -Good safety culture -Fairly easy work -Lots of opportunities to grow

Cons

Big corporate politics at times. Some people just love to point fingers. Rules that are very excessive due to incompetence, instead of just firing morons.

Pros

PTO policy is pretty straight forward and a decent amount of time. If you’re right out of high school or your only desire is to turn wrenches you’re entire life, this place is for you. Three day weekends.

Cons

There is no mobility. They can’t find mechanics so if you are one, they will keep you there at all costs. They fully rely on the good old boy system. The people that are in management positions, especially at West Palm, do not care about anything other than staying where they are and using what little power they think they have. Management is very customer focused but forget their employees. Health benefits are seriously lacking.
