Pros

Great benefits package; opportunities for both college grads and college students. The company's diversification of its customer base across the globe as well as a large backlog means any recession should have little to no effect on Gulfstream Engineering. Old-school politics as to be expected in a vintage aerospace company, but plenty of exposure to senior management if you are personable and perform well. No one confined to their department; flexible work shifts (standard four tens for most) plus available overtime. Great exposure to aerospace supplier companies. Strong commitment to safety. Many other great aerospace corporations recruit out of Gulfstream Engineering with very attractive offers. Great opportunities here.

Cons

Stiff corporate culture; lack of diversity in some working groups. Project budgets vary on a whim at times. Initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma overpromoted.

Pros

-Work in an air conditioned hangar! -All the tools and support needed to do the job -Excellent training available -Good safety culture -Fairly easy work -Lots of opportunities to grow

Cons

Big corporate politics at times. Some people just love to point fingers. Rules that are very excessive due to incompetence, instead of just firing morons.

Pros

Gulfstream is a good company, I would come back to it. Can be a fantastic work life balance. PTO and benefits are decent. Can be an excellent career builder if you have connections and play your cards right. They can pay for your masters. Self-starters are rewarded and recognized,

Cons

-Ultimately, your experience heavily depends on your specific group—and some can be incredibly profane and toxic. If you are trying to implement an improvement but it doesn't agree with leadership, you can be harassed. -You might find yourself fourth in a long line for a position that only opens once a year; many jobs already have a person picked before they are ever posted. This isn't new information.
