Pros

Decent pay for the area, but Savannah cost of living is cheap, so that's not saying much 401K match is decent

Cons

This company is going downhill, and fast. I've worked in aerospace engineering for 20 years, at three different OEMs. Gulfstream is far and away the worst place I've ever worked (in engineering, I cannot speak to the manufacturing side). In the last few years it has deteriorated rapidly. Promotions and raises are based on a good ol boy network, not how hard you work or how much you contribute to the organization. People with less experience and expertise are promoted ahead of those who are more qualified because they're part of "the club." Employee surveys for several years have shown low employee morale and significant issues with trusting management, so senior leadership has stopped giving surveys instead of working to solve the issues. The engineering organization is run based on fear and intimidation. There is no work/life balance - you're expected to work overtime for no pay. I've never worked so hard for so little appreciation. I've heard many coworkers who've been with the company 15+ years state that things have changed significantly since they first started working there, and not for the better. As soon as I find a job elsewhere, I'm leaving.

Pros

-Work in an air conditioned hangar! -All the tools and support needed to do the job -Excellent training available -Good safety culture -Fairly easy work -Lots of opportunities to grow

Cons

Big corporate politics at times. Some people just love to point fingers. Rules that are very excessive due to incompetence, instead of just firing morons.

Pros

PTO policy is pretty straight forward and a decent amount of time. If you’re right out of high school or your only desire is to turn wrenches you’re entire life, this place is for you. Three day weekends.

Cons

There is no mobility. They can’t find mechanics so if you are one, they will keep you there at all costs. They fully rely on the good old boy system. The people that are in management positions, especially at West Palm, do not care about anything other than staying where they are and using what little power they think they have. Management is very customer focused but forget their employees. Health benefits are seriously lacking.
