Pros

Fantastic scheduling system, you can drop a shift through the computer and anyone qualified may pick it up within minutes. Great starting pay rate and discount on store brand items, saves tons of money on groceries. You get a 25 cent raise every 6 months and you can begin advancing after 1 year, also very easy to transfer stores or departments. They offer benefits such as mobile phone discounts and scholarships. There are may fun employee appreciation events and culture events where you may dress up and/or get free food.

Cons

VERY repetitive work, you handle hundreds of customers in one shift. You will have to work crappy times like weekends, till 1am, etc. because it is retail. Managers are generally nice, but corporate transfers them around to different stores every few years, so you can't really build a relationship. Once you quit or fired, there's a 99% chance you will never ever be rehired.

Cons

NO FULL-TIME OFFER! The recruitment process at H-E-B Digital is deeply frustrating and appears to lack integrity. Despite having relevant internship experience and receiving positive feedback during the interview process, I found that the company’s hiring strategy seems entirely reliant on prioritizing individuals recently laid off from FAANG companies. It feels as though they are not genuinely interested in developing new talent or giving equal consideration to qualified candidates who don't fit that specific profile. Advice for Management: Be transparent with applicants regarding your hiring criteria. It is demoralizing to waste time and emotional energy interviewing when the process feels like a box-checking exercise. If you are not actually hiring, do not string candidates along with positive feedback. The current approach reflects poorly on the company’s values and brand. Recommendation: If you are not a recent layoff from a major tech firm, I would suggest looking elsewhere. It appears to be their business model to prioritize those specific candidates over others, regardless of your personal qualifications or positive performance during interviews.
