Pros

Not a whole lot. I truly can't think of any right now. You will get better pay and treated better literally anywhere else

Cons

Penny wise and dollar dumb. They fire receptionists and individual store managers the same day we close stores. Individual store managers were told on a meeting at 10am that this was also their last day and they had until 1pm to pack up their offices for closing. This is all still while we are seeing clients, taking payments, and getting walk ins. It means as a leader covering 3 stores, you effectively have to be in 3 places at once. And you'll never be recognized for this crazy balancing act they force upon their employees. So there is a massive labor shortage that Multi-Unit team leaders need to deal with. Extremely tough on overtime. Even when it is desperately needed, you will not be allowed any overtime during peak season. Management that simply does not care about their employees. This company is anything but proactive. They have a knee-jerk reaction to everything and it is very disorganized. Frankly, I would tell people to RUN and let consumers know they will be far better off doing Turbo Tax on their own. Leaders do not make visits to retail locations. They all work remote. But as a Multi-Unit team leader, I am not allowed to do anything from home. The double standards are insane.

Pros

Flexible availability. Path for promotion is obvious and quantified.

Cons

Bonus/commission it is based on level and sales so is low in states without a state tax form. Hourly wage comes out of bonus. Pressure to sell items that don't add to your commission. They push customer surveys but you can be penalized if someone complains about the company, price, amount of emails etc even though you have no control. Some employees are frustratingly low quality and you will spend time helping or fixing their mistakes time that works against your commission. You are expected to answer phones, make appointments, scan, print, take money, help new comers all while maximizing returns. If you take over someone's client and find a mistake you are expected to work against your commission to file amendments peace of mind claims etc.
