Pros
I honestly can’t think of any
Cons
Every other review has mentioned how terrible the communication is here, so I won’t get into that. You will be worked into the ground and expected to drive all around the state in routes that are economically and environmentally wasteful just to meet SLA’s that can’t be met due to paltry warehouse staff. They just installed GPSes in all the vans this year and we had to fight tooth and nail to get leadership to *not* turn on audio recording for inside the cabs. Hope you don’t incur any expenses or it will take you months and months to get your money back! Your clients (grocery chain) will be at the mercy of the bean counters as you struggle to get them parts and service in a timely manner, because when HCLTech took the contract they axed 75% of the technicians and any warehouse staff who actually knew anything. Also, as a Field Service tech you are just boots-on-the-ground so while you might know what the issue is technically, you will be setting up a lot of Teams calls to India so they can get everyone on the subcontinent involved to try and troubleshoot the issue that you’re trying to tell them it is, because you’re on site and you know better. Everyone is overworked and miserable but hey, at least Microsoft Viva lets you see a bunch of great artwork from other downtrodden employees half a globe away! There is probably a lot more I could get into here but honestly it’s been about half a year and I’ve blocked out most of my time at HCLTech since it was so traumatic. Run, —do not walk!— away from this company and your future self will thank you… take it from someone who’s been there. I would never go back in a zillion years.
