Pros

HCL covered my moving expenses.

Cons

I was with HCL for a little under a year. Overall experience was extremely poor. I was working onsite with a client and felt like a number on my team. I interacted with my manager less than 5 times over the course of 10 months. He just didn't care to interact, share HCL values, or act like a manager. I moved across the country on a whim to start at the beginning of the month. From day 1 the manager shows up an hour late and tell me he doesn't have anything for me to do and to come back tomorrow. Same things happens for the next 4 days (he forgot to set up a meeting with the client to get me onboarded). Keep in mind he knew I was driving 40 miles one-way to get there. There is no real culture other than work your 40 hours and go home. There was never a day I felt excited to work for HCL. Everything was just disorganized & slow. I gave my manager a month's notice that I was interviewing elsewhere and thinking about leaving. I was told they would "take legal action against me and I would get in trouble" for leaving. I promptly left the next day and never looked back. If you have other options, take them.

Pros

Data Center Exposure Free lunch in cafeteria at Mesa location Can have a lot of downtime Not aggressively tracking you on everything Job is not difficult

Cons

no free lunch for other locations in valley Pay could be better Only contracted to work with the data center company, HCLTech could potentially lose the contract not directly employed by data center company. No benefits if working through an agency, only paid holidays if direct HCL. Management is a bit scattered.
