Pros

Great projects and clients, good pay and benefits. A company with a first-class portfolio of work in a variety of industry sectors.

Cons

This company has zero respect for support services and cannot manage what it doesn't understand. HNTB sticks it's fingers in all sorts of pies so it can provide ancillary services and maximize hours on contracts. So, you are merely overhead on work that should have been subcontracted to a company whose main business is what you do. My tenure was accented by revolving-door bosses, ever changing missions and descending the corporate ladder with every re-re-reorganization. Offices and divisions within offices are pitted against each other and paired in shotgun marriages. The worst part was the indifference, inattention, lack of interest or utter disdain shown by manager PEs to our work. I learned a lot here and I worked in some great projects, but I paid a heavy price emotionally. Having to tout a "culture of respect" means there was never much of one to begin with. If you must work here, count your blessings when you get them, get your experience, then get the hell out of Dodge.

Pros

While the culture varies by office, I found the California offices to have a very friendly, collaborative, and energetic atmosphere. The company also puts genuine effort into its internal events, consistently investing time and resources to make them well organized and enjoyable for employees. In addition, there is a strong culture of continuous learning. Employees are encouraged to develop new skills, and the company provides meaningful support for professional growth and ongoing development.

Cons

It used to be a great company, but its rapid expansion has made the organization feel less structured and less efficient. Compared with many other firms, the workload is exceptionally heavy, and there is a strong expectation that employees will work through long, exhausting hours to meet demanding deadlines. Performance expectations are also very high. As a result, employee turnover is significant, and it is not uncommon for people to leave or even return to their previous employers.
