Pros

Great benefits, onsite health numbers, cancer screening, etc. Nice cafeteria, gym and grounds. Peer group is excellent. Most people put in 40+ to 80 hours a week. Very dedicated.

Cons

Whats inside. Complex silos that have competing agendas, broken processes, antiquated systems. What they don't tell you is that HP layoffs aren't a matter of if, but when. That you are doing three jobs, work 60 hours a week, and have no home-life doesn't matter. 40 appears to be a magic age when people get a workforce reduction notice. Oh they say you have 60 days to find another position and supposedly preferential treatment, but HP Alumni report that that almost never happens - not for the over 40 crowd. And then you can never work for them again. So they seek out areas with lower wages, and then there is almost no way to replace that income.

Pros

Good working culture. It falls a little prey to acting like we're a family and not a business, but at least it doesn't pretend "we work hard, we play hard".

Cons

ELT and upper management have zero vision for the company besides desperately trying to pull up stock prices. Company continues to make deep long-term sacrifices for short term gains, that barely rise above the performance of our competitors. Benefits weaken each year. Example: CVS Caremark now handles RxD insurance, and CVS Caremark is incompetent and exploitative.
