Pros

There is a lot of independence and flexibility. They pay folks reasonably well for what they do, and bonuses, albeit small, do help to encourage productivity. In general, there is a good work/life balance

Cons

Morale/energy levels can be low at times among team members. There seems to be a lack of passion among most members of any given engineering team, and managers don't seem to be helping out much in that regard - it's a difficult problem to solve. Although there is a lot of independence, there isn't a lot of room for upward mobility. I've had multiple conversations with managers about moving into a different role/level of responsibility, to which they've responded positively, but I've yet to see any sort of effort on their side. I've had to seemingly work around them to start doing what i'd like to do.

Pros

Great work/life balance Competitive Pay A players Manager support Global company Good bonuses

Cons

Goals change so frequently sometimes it felt as though all the hard work was for nothing. Competitive environment so you need to show your value outside of your role to get assistance and build a brand/ name for yourself. Internal opportunities "require" referrals and building rapport with that team. Otherwise your application is ignored. Salary raises are not great so negotiate your incoming salary well. Your direct manager shapes your experience, not a con necessarily. Poor managers or shift in management can impact your experience heavily.
