Pros

Great pay and benefits are not bad. If you are not a multi-tasker you will definitely learn to be. Most of the male nurses are very friendly.

Cons

Broke my back for the ER.. I worked three double shifts (11PM-3:30PM) three days in a row on top of being sick (Diagnosed with bronchitis and prescribed medication by one of ER doctors) and drowsy during an overnight shift 30 minutes before my shift ended (11Pm-7AM) I was sent home and told i potentially might be terminated. Following day I wrote out a statement to fight my side of the story for the management. the following week I am terminated and suggested by management I can write out an appeal to keep my position to the vice president. completed the appeal and turned in to human resources, turned out i wasn't qualified for appealing being under 90 day probation. Nobody will have your back when needed no matter how much energy you dedicate to the company.

Pros

Working at Hackensack Meridian Health has been a very positive experience, especially when it comes to benefits and employee support. One of the biggest advantages is that health benefits begin almost immediately, which gives employees peace of mind from day one. The medical, dental, and vision coverage options are strong, and there are also additional resources like tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, retirement plans, and employee discounts. The company genuinely invests in its employees and provides tools to support both professional growth and work-life balance. Management and coworkers are generally supportive, and there is a strong team-oriented environment throughout the organization. For anyone looking for stability, solid healthcare coverage, and opportunities to grow within a large healthcare network, Hackensack Meridian Health is a great place to work. The benefits package and overall support for employees make a noticeable difference compared to many other employers in the area.
