Pros
There are benefits, including free health insurance, which you do not find with most salon employers. They also offer 401k, dental and vision insurance, and paid time off. At my specific salon, the hours have been flexible, and there is almost always somebody willing to work for you on your regular shift if you need it off. Everyone there is a team, and we help each other.
Cons
The health insurance, although free, is not great. I pay most of each medical bill. The company policy is that as a full-time employee, you must work two morning shifts, two night shifts, and a weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday). This is difficult for those with children in school.
