Owner is verbally abusive to staff and constantly puts them down, tells them to work harder, calls them weak if they fall ill , replaces staff if they go on maternity, raises his voice and makes comments about the bodies of staff, makes comments like “the guys like Angela because she has a boob job.” Or “amy is average looking but she flirts with the guys and makes them feel good so she makes good tips.” This place is very much the hooters of haircuts, clients will make sexual comments or physically touch you because the owner does nothing if they do. You are expected to have your hair and makeup done every day, and they will cut your pay if you end up in the hospital with Covid and don’t do 100 haircuts in a month. This place is 1099 yet staff are treated like w2 employees with strict rules and policies. This place will discriminate if you have a disability and will not work with you. My advice is you’re better off at lady janes if you’re gonna work at a chain like this. Though I would recommend avoiding chain shops entirely.
