Pros
Great money, cool clients, and decent shop vibe. They hire pretty much any licensed female stylist, regardless of your experience with men’s hair (but they have no formal employee training) so it’s an easy place to start out. It was a great place when I first started, the owner (despite things listed in “cons”) did seem to genuinely care about her employees for the most part. She did a lot to help a lot of us, especially during covid.
Cons
Poor communication, pretty toxic leadership, they try to prevent your clients from finding you when you move on to your own or a different company. The owner of the location I worked at tended to gossip a lot, spread some misinformation, and seemed to try and play employees against each other sometimes. They only hired women (and they seemed to prefer physical appearance *ie your hair, body, how desirable they thought the target demographic would find you* over actual talent) despite MANY experienced male barbers interest in employment, which isn’t very inclusive. Rarely fully staffed so you’re expected to work on your off days if somebody calls out.
