Pros
Good benefits including 401(k), good health insurance and both vacation time and sick time rather than the "one time bank for everything" approach. Much better than other retail places. Pay is decent. Not minimum wage but the annual raises are VERY stingy. You can only get a 2% raise a year no matter how good your review is.
Cons
They've cut back on a lot of the perks over the last few years. They cut 5 of our annual holidays (meaning we're working a week more per year for the same pay) and have reduced vacation and sick time. I'm pretty sure this is coming from a disconnect in the upper management. It seems like Sharon Wright is becoming increasingly hands-off from the day-to-day and that means more 'corporate' ideals are sneaking in. They used to put the employees first and treat us like we were the most important asset but, in my district, the upper management is increasingly siding with customers who just want to complain until they get a discount rather than listening to their employees who have been there for years. They've lost a lot of long-tenured employees in the last year in this district because they didn't like the direction the company is turning toward.
