Pros
Benefits: amazing amount of vacation time, 401k with match, health insurance, and a fantastic store discount. I worked at one store for 4 years during which time I was promoted to shift leader. I met the most amazing people working at half price books and can honestly say I enjoyed every day working there.
Cons
Although I love the company, the store I worked at, my coworkers, and customers I ultimately left for three reasons. Pay. Schedule. No more room for upward mobility. The pay and schedule are pretty much the same across the chain. The lack of opportunity was specific to my district because there were only 3 stores in my area.
