Pros
Social workers at Harris Health are able to champion for the most vulnerable patients in Houston. It’s fast-paced and no day is the same. I can solve complex problems to help people gain access to life-saving care. The pay is much better than at other social work agencies!
Cons
Some long-term staff stay on for the pension that is no longer available to new hires. Some are bitter and bring negativity to staff and coworkers. Large caseloads with high acuity.
