Pros
Upper management is pretty relaxed and let you do your job without micromanagement. Volume is doable and staffing is sufficient to be able to care for our patients. They do listen to feedback from pharmacists and make changes.
Cons
Benefits aren’t great since prescription benefits switched to optum and Kroger dropped express scripts. Bonuses have been lower than in previous years due to increasing and often unrealistic immunization and refill program goals. Mystery shops are graded outside of the company and are often not accurate and impact bonuses as well. We’re regarded as high as other department managers, like the deli and compared to them despite our lack education. Store managers can make or break you because they are your direct supervisors for annual reviews although they know nearly nothing about pharmacy.
