Pros

There is not one Pro to this company that I can think of.

Cons

The pay is WAY too low for the work that is required. Cleaning up bio hazard waste from residents in nursing homes is a very dirty job. It's not something you do every once in a blue moon, it's an every day event. The nurses and aids like to roll up sheets with piles of feces, urine and blood and send it to laundry. You're working around residents who have infectious and dangerous diseases and viruses like AIDs, Tuberculosis, the FLU, C-Diff and other nasty viruses. The stench in the laundry room can be unbearable at times. The RNs, CNAs and staff that work in these nursing homes treat the cleaning and laundry staff like 3rd class citizens. I've worked with the company for less than a year and I've been sent to 4 different locations because the turn over rate is astronomical. In each location I spoke with the employees and it's the same story. Wages are too low, you constantly have to check your hours because they're always inaccurate, you're not appreciated by corporate, workers who have been with the company receive a measly .02% raise ONCE per year if you're LUCKY ENOUGH to have a manager who knows how to FILE the paperwork. Many have not received wage increases at all and it blows my mind that they haven't looked employment somewhere else. To put that into perspective if you start out at the 7.25 rate that's only a 14.5 cent raise, they don't round it up to 25, 20 or even 15 cents, it's right on the nose at 14.5 cents. You can work at fast food for more and do WAY less work, I should know, I've worked at fast food. The hours are not fixed, so they'll call you in anytime they need a mule. If you don't come in then you are punished with inconvenient hours or work details. The state inspections are a joke, the nursing homes are actually told when state inspections will occur at least two weeks in advance. For those two weeks the nurses, staff, aids and Healthcare Services Group will do everything correctly, they'll even pay to have employees from other locations to come to the facility and get everything caught up, once the state inspection is over, everything goes back to an inadequate staff with heavy work loads and most places would be SHUT DOWN due to the state tags it would receive if the state were to just come in unannounced. I feel truly sorry for the residents that have to reside in these subpar facilities. If any job is commanding of a 15.00/hr salary or dare I say a UNION then this is one of those jobs. But you will not get that here, not even the managers make that much. What put the nail in the coffin for this job was that I found out that the manager was hiring new employees at 8.50/hr due to the high turnover. Us senior employees were still at the 7.25/hr rate. And these weren’t employees that had years of experience somewhere else, they were employees who never worked in the cleaning or healthcare industry prior and the sad part is that they quit after a few weeks because they don’t feel like the pay is enough. Totally infuriating when you learn of this. Don’t get me wrong, there are facilities that do have unions but we have actually been sent to union locations to help them catch up on their work as well which is TOTALLY ILLEGAL and I’m surprised this company hasn’t been busted yet. My advice to you is DO NOT work for this company. I was a skeptic as well when I first read these reviews before I began my tenor here. I should have taken the advice of these former employees who were kind enough to leave their feed back. But I just assumed that these were localized issues that only occurred at a few facilities. These issues are just not a localized problem; they are rampant though out all 3500 locations. This is totally unacceptable for a company that had 1.9 billion in sales last year.
