Pros

In the spot I was in I ran the kitchen the way I wanted to without much interruption from my boss with process. The front line kitchen team was amazing very hardworking workers who deserve more pay for all they do.

Cons

Though the job itself isn’t hard dealing with management is. Weather it is the company mangers or the facility managers you will never be low on someone to tell you how terrible of a job you are doing despite what the stats say. I was yelled at by my boss daily for anything and everything. Upper management did not see the front line staff as anything other than stupid, lazy, and replaceable. One of the managers was really racist and openly would say racist things in front of white employees. Time management is something my boss was never okay with. I constantly needed to come in for no reason. I worked for 4 months straight with 2 off days and when I asked for an off day I was then called lazy and unwilling to do the word needed despite me hiring in and immediately working 16 hour shifts 7 days a week. The training is the bare minimum. They rely on common sense more than they will train you. You are thrown to the wolves and if you fail you are screamed at and called stupid. Upper management will use you as a punching bag and scape goat.

Pros

coming to work and greeting residents and some of the staff, that helps me through the day, laughing and joking around, just so I don't think about the negativity that comes with working for hcsg and working in a autumn lake building

Cons

working understaffed meaning 3 and half housekeepers, is not gonna cut it and people go on vacation or sick or just off.. the slack is passed down on us and more so on the manager, the company culture uses him and he can never take time off because he's filling in 100 percent of the time.
