Pros

For a media company, it's currently one of the fairest and takes good care of its staff. We get health benefits, access to mental health support, there is a good maternity policy in place, HR takes you seriously and they are doing their best in a tricky market.

Cons

It's still journalism, which means job security is low, regular waves of redundancies are to be expected and we have had the odd sexual harassment/misconduct issue.

Pros

Well-organized and good communication. As a contractor, I found Hearst to be a pleasure to work with.

Cons

I don't have any cons to report other than that the accounts payable is out of North Carolina and can take 60 days to receive payment.
