Pros
The kids are the main pro. They are so sweet and come into school everyday with so much energy and life and make you feel happy to be a teacher. More pros are the pay is competitive and you have the opportunity to incorporate your own culture within your classroom
Cons
HLA is a workplace that is filled with gossip and cliques. It’s sad to see adults, especially teachers, clique up and talk about other colleagues. Leadership will always put themselves first and their teachers last. Sad. I’ve personally encountered several teachers talking about me and even ignoring me when I walk by. HLA is not a comfortable work setting, it’s really a dog eat dog environment and only the FAVORITES survive. No clear indication of a disciplinary method for kids and they know it. Gossip. Frequent changes. More gossip.
