The Cons came when they decided to shut down the Speed Indiana plant & build their new K4 plant in Mitchell Indiana. I don’t believe they could have picked a worse place to build. I transferred to Mitchell in May of 22. The group of people they have working at Mitchell are an embarrassment to the company. The Mitchell Indiana plant promotes a very hostile work environment. My short time there was absolutely the worst experience I have ever witnessed & I have worked in many construction type environment for over 30yrs. I can not even describe these people as Men. They literally act like 3rd grade school children. I witnessed multiple scuffles that could have become work places injuries. A couple of fist fights. Constant badgering because I came from a different plant. My tool box was broken into and cleaned out two different times, and I got the blame for not having tools, they allowed their children to steal. This group also works in the most dangerous manner I have ever witnessed. I witnessed a Millwright crawl into a bucks elevator shaft with one chain broken & tons of metal chain & buckets over his head, and this man refused to put his Lock on the equipment before crawling inside. A supervisor was present when this took place. The same guy on another occasion pulled Gaurd off a running fan, and while in operation stuck his hand between the fan housing & rotating shaft. Iv seen on multiple occasions employees reaching into auger conveyors, without LOTO! The list goes on, I could write a book on some of the things I witnessed. The other issue is if you take pride in what you do. If you do precise, accurate, professional work, then Lehigh Is Not The Place for you. You will be sorely disappointed. Their method of operation is hammers & cheater pipes. They literally beat stuff together & scratch their heads because it’s broken down later that day. Good luck Lehigh when you turn your New Billion dollar plant over to these shade tree mechanics. They will tear that place to peace’s within a few short years.
