Pros
In the ER, doctors and nurses share their work spaces. Nurses will step in and help each other. It's the best relationship that I have ever had with colleagues. The culture is very positive and supportive, it's also diverse. You feel accepted no matter your background. It's also very intense and interesting. I learn something new every shift.
Cons
The pay and benefits could be better. We're trained well enough to be assets anywhere, so many leave after a couple of years for bigger paychecks. We're extremely busy (Detroit campus), it's not for the weak or lazy.
