Pros

Many of the people here are very friendly and eager to teach you. Most of these people are non-management. Wonderful commitment to the community via various outreach programs. Benefits are ok.

Cons

Most of management is not a meritocracy, but rather a good ole boy club of who has been around before the company went public. This company lacks diversity. This is ethnic diversity and female leadership, which they are slowly bringing on board. Look at their executive team. Many in upper management (mostly all) are whites males, which isn’t reflective of our society. No true succession plan for the CEO who gives lip service about innovation, yet employees frequently use FAX machines. If you are under then age of 40, i would suggest looking elsewhere. The nepotism is rampant, as you frequently encounter employees who are family of executive leadership. Progress is slow here. There remains a lack of focus on innovating the culture, and retaining the compqny culture, which is stale. This company is not kind to pregnant women - with many facing discrimination and reporting it to HR. Managers expect employees to morning have work/life balance and stay until 7/8 pm with no flexibility. This isn’t a company I would recommend for someone looking to further their career.

Pros

Henry Schein has a genuinely collaborative culture where teamwork and respect are part of daily work life. Leadership is supportive and encourages open communication, professional development, and continuous learning. There are great opportunities to grow your skill set, especially through cross functional work with teams across pricing, product data, sales, and operations. Work–life balance is solid, the company has remote opportunities and is a respected leader in the healthcare industry. I also appreciate the company’s commitment to community outreach and social responsibility—it reinforces that we’re working for a mission-driven organization.

Cons

Like most large organizations, processes can sometimes feel slow due to the number of teams involved. Change management can take time, and cross-department alignment requires patience. However, leadership has been taking steps to improve workflows and increase efficiency.
