Pros

While it is an international business, it operates like a family business. It is collaborative both across locations and within locations operating a strict open door policy which fosters growth and development for all employees. The retention record here speaks for itself - we have several people here at the Carlsbad location who have been here for over 15-20 years - and this feels all too rare nowadays. Henry Schein looks after its employees with a robust wellness program - we're always made to feel our health and wellbeing is the companies top priority and this in turn makes employees feel empowered and committed to delivering the best quality. It also encourages our employees to look after others and offers multiple opportunities throughout the year to volunteer time and services to our local community projects and charity. It lives and breathes it's tag line 'doing well by doing good!' The company offers a solid benefits package also - including medical, dental, vision and 20 days PTO from day 1. I have been here 1.5 years but I already know that I have found a home here at Henry Schein and that I am with this team for the long term!

Cons

There are only 7 observed holidays per year- but 20 days PTO per year from day 1 helps!

Pros

Henry Schein has a genuinely collaborative culture where teamwork and respect are part of daily work life. Leadership is supportive and encourages open communication, professional development, and continuous learning. There are great opportunities to grow your skill set, especially through cross functional work with teams across pricing, product data, sales, and operations. Work–life balance is solid, the company has remote opportunities and is a respected leader in the healthcare industry. I also appreciate the company’s commitment to community outreach and social responsibility—it reinforces that we’re working for a mission-driven organization.

Cons

Like most large organizations, processes can sometimes feel slow due to the number of teams involved. Change management can take time, and cross-department alignment requires patience. However, leadership has been taking steps to improve workflows and increase efficiency.
