Pros
The best thing about the company is the people. When your a field engineer you have the ability to work along side the HP craft and they are the best in the business. Hensel Phelps also does a great job training their employees. There benefits are some of the best in the industry. You also will learn alot as a Field Engineer, alot more than sitting in a office as a project engineer at other companies. Another great thing about HP is you will work on big tough projects. If you enjoy being challenged on a daily basis and working 70+ hours a week then this company is for you. I personally enjoy what i do and somedays i love working for HP.
Cons
You are expected to work 70 hours a week. Also 12 hour days are a minimum . If i were to leave after a 10 hour day then expect someone to mention that you "left early". The pay is lower than most starting salaries as well. The upper management always talks about incorporating a "quality of life" program for the projects but the fact is that most projects do not have one. I simply would love to just leave after a 10 hour day and work out 3 days a week but the upper management would see that as not being committed.
