Pros

-la croix water in the office

Cons

This company is a complete nightmare. All positive reviews are from management trying to save face. From my first day, the culture was toxic and unwelcoming. There is absolutely no diversity in the workplace, which was incredibly disheartening. There is a homogenous (very white) work environment. All the people of color in the company have always felt out of place. The management team was authoritarian and unsupportive, and they played favorites with certain employees. Individuals with no leadership experience were promoted. Middle management was also hired - most with no technical experience leading technical teams. There is a cover yourself culture - so better make sure to take screenshots of all interactions because everything you do will be used against you (yes, they are reading your slack messages). If you have your own opinions, go somewhere else. Anybody that's not a "yes man" will be let go. Besides the lack of diversity and horrible management, this company has no future. The product was built for Israeli and EU companies. There is no product market fit in the US. They let go at least 7 sales people right before the Thanksgiving holiday. The sales target for the US were unreachable. Look on the public company website and there are no notable brands signed on. Down sells are extremely common due to the product being mis sold. The company doesn't even use most if its own product that we advertise so well. No merit increases were announced at the holiday party after the company had a lavish holiday party. All of us were in shock because we would rather have cash in our pockets than a taco bar. The company is also forcing an in-office culture. The reasoning being "we accidentally bought this big office" and not because of collaboration. Office snacks (if ever stocked) are comparable to homeless shelter food. Moreover, all engineering and product teams are based in the EU. Be prepared to wake up early and stay late to fix issues. There was also a big incident in the company where management pushed out an employee and tried to hide it from the team despite everyone knowing. On the outside, the customer success team looks like they are a big happy family but everyone mistrust management. Looking in on their team, it seems no one can speak their mind because they will be let-go. Lastly, let's not forget the "me too" incident that this company had. Google Hibob Sexual harassment and read all about it. If you are looking for a job with a positive work environment, diverse group of colleagues, and a company with a future, steer clear of this company. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We value every opinion, and hear your pain. If you are a current employee, please let us help in any way. No one should feel like that in their workplace. That said, the feedback on your onboarding and the culture really shocked us. Your comments touch on a number of aspects of working with HiBob, and we’d like to address them one by one, and also clarify some inaccuracies in your review. DEI&B is, and has always been a priority for HiBob. We’re committed to helping companies embed DEI&B in every step of their employee journey, and ensure equal opportunity for everyone. We are proud that we have over 50 nationalities represented at HiBob globally. In the US, our employee base is made up of 65% white and 35% non-white employees, and 60% of our people managers are female. We track both of these data points closely and we are constantly striving to improve them. Our product grows as we grow. Going into any new market is a challenge, but we have made huge strides with our product by listening to our US-based prospects and customers, and we have confidence in our ability to bring our vision to the US. Like all startups, our sales targets are ambitious. We have a number of highly successful salespeople within the US, and we track their performance closely and adjust targets as appropriate. With that in mind, we recently lowered quotas in the Americas in response to feedback from sales leadership and in consideration of current market conditions. We’re also very transparent with sales teams about how their performance is measured so that decisions can be made on an objective basis. Respectfully, your points regarding event budgets & Slack surveillance are simply untrue. We do hope that if you are still employed with HiBob that you raise these points with your People & Culture Partner so we can clarify any misinformation you may have heard. We would also like to assure you that every review is read and responded to, and we have no control over who posts reviews to this platform - good or bad. We can’t claim that we get everything right, but we are continually working on addressing issues that have been raised in some departments.

Pros

Does Glassdoor have a character limit? Honestly, this is the best company to work at. The people are absolutely incredible. Super smart and supportive, it’s a great combo. I love our office lunches, perks (gym/wellness stipend for example) and just overall good vibes. Product is massive so definitely know that there’s more to learn everyday. That’s the beauty though, it’ll never be boring.

Cons

No cons - more like suggestion. Bigger office so we can come in more!

Wow, thank you for this amazing review! We’re so happy to hear that you’re enjoying the people, culture, office lunches, perks, and overall vibe at HiBob. Creating an environment where smart, supportive people can do great work together is something we care deeply about. We also love your point about the product — there’s always more to learn, and that’s what keeps things exciting. And noted on the bigger office suggestion. We love that you want to come in more! Thanks again for being part of the Bob journey.

Pros

Fully remote environment with a lot of flexibility. Most people across the organization are genuinely kind, collaborative, and supportive to work with.

Cons

There is a continued narrative around an upcoming IPO that does not feel grounded in current market realities, especially given broader trends where even much larger, much more established companies are holding off. Stop saying it is coming...it's likely not for a very long time if ever. The product was USED TO BE highly differentiated, but the HRIS space has become much more competitive and many alternatives now offer similar or better capabilities. In the U.S. market specifically, some of the company’s core messaging around culture and DEI does not resonate as strongly with buyers as it may have in the past. Things have shifted here and companies are not focused on this anymore. Payroll was highly anticipated but has not met expectations, and its limited adoption has made it harder to position as a strength in sales cycles. Even HiBob doesn't use it's own payroll to pay our employees. From a go-to-market perspective, there are challenges in selling upmarket. The brand and product positioning is not aligned with enterprise expectations, which creates additional friction in longer, more complex sales cycles. Leadership tends to stay optimistic about these dynamics but could benefit from more direct acknowledgment of market feedback and competitive realities. It's not working in the US at all. It never really has.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you value the flexibility of our remote working arrangements and the collaborative culture we encourage across the organization. Regarding the US market, it's true that there has been a major shift. However, the US remains one of our largest growth opportunities and we're ensuring a better product-market fit as we aim to scale. Our messaging is evolving to better reflect this. We appreciate the honest perspective on payroll, positioning, and the competitive outlook. These are areas we evaluate on a regular basis, and we're actively working on a more defined proposition and greater brand awareness. Finally, we're unable to use our own Payroll product to ensure the confidentiality of our employees' data. This is best practice amongst payroll organizations.
