Pros
The people! I am happy to say I am good friends with the people I work with. I enjoy coming to work every day. The culture of the University is a very positive one. Their values are clearly visible and emphasized in almost everything they do. They look out for their students, faculty, and staff. Also plenty of growth potential. The University has grown remarkably over the last 10 years, defying the recession, and is poised to do the same for the next 10 years. As they continue to earn recognition and attract greater talent, this can only benefit current and future employees. This is really a place where you can enjoy what you do and feel like you are a valuable part of a team that is making a difference in people's lives in higher education.
Cons
The compensation and benefits are somewhat lackluster beyond all of the gifts and "free stuff." Average or below average pay in most fields, but this is almost to be expected at an institution whose primary goal is to educate their students. If you don't "buy in" to their mission and values, it will all seem a little lacking to you.
